YURTS? In Pullman? More to follow.

No collage scans today I’m afraid.

After much wrestling I still haven’t managed to get the internet going at my place, which leaves me few options for updating my images.

In other news, however, I’ll be moving to a new, more savory locale that will be much more accomodating for such endeavors.

Yes, I’m leaving my apartment! My home away from home for almost four years now. I was once told that we all have to live in a box at one point in our lives, and I feel I’ve outstayed my welcome in this complex. I certainly won’t miss the uniformity of layouts- it always creeps me out to go into someone elses apartment that is exactly like mine, but differently decorated, and funny smelling. It like a twilight zone or something.

Those days of tan un-removable drapes and white walls end on May 15th for me.

That’s when Andy and I will be moving to a sweet little place right next to a park in downtown Pullman. It’s only for the summer, but with a massive lawn, forgiving neighbors, and within eye sight of the outdoor pool I have a feeling this might be a sumer to break the records.

At the 1st of July, I have to be completely moved out of my studio, which breaks my heart. In efforts to recover some artistic space, I’ve decided to build myself a yurt, that will sit in the front yard of my summer abode.

Yes, a yurt. Why not? It’s completely nomadic! And people make them all the time. I can’t see why I couldn’t do it. Besides, I have full access to the woodshop at least until the end of summer session. I really ought to take advantage of such facilities.

Amazing inspiration for my new studio efforts. They are extremely pricey ( in my opinion), but oh, so cool. Worth a gander.

In other news, we planted a garden yesterday. Well, not really planted, but rather, weeded, spread dirt, and spent all kinds of cash on the hopes of having fresh vegetables and flowers this summer.

I had no idea how long its been since I had dirt in my finger nails! Real dirt, not just junk that comes off of all my art junk.

Quite exciting.

Today is filled with laundry and art projects, so off I go.
