Aaah, Labor day.

After only a little bit of thought, I’ve decided that it should be labor week instead. I mean, if we’re going to give a break to laborers, why stop at a day? Personally, I think it’s almost insulting, given that we have two days of weekend all the time. Kinda like the equivalent of a two cent tip. You could just leave nothing, but by leaving two dull pennies, it’s like saying fuck you with out even opening your mouth.

Perhaps I’m just a bit bitter because I worked on this supposed holiday. I guess having this day off is something I’m supposed to aspire to- land a job that actually gives me holidays and weekends off. I’m not sold on this theory though.

Hmmm…seems everyones out at Bumbershoot this weekend, and I’m wildly jealous. I’ve never been, although I call myself a music fan. I even got the weekend off this year to go, but alas, the blues band takes priority because our first performance is….uh….TOMORROW!

Yes, I’m freaking out. Just a little bit.  Everybody and my mom is going to be there, so I’d better not fuck up too badly. And even if I do, I’m pretty good about laughing it off. My homework today is to make flyers, post them, watch as many live performance dvds that I can fathom, then rehearse until I can sing in my sleep. OOhh! And it’s karaoke night tonight, so there will be some Sweet Caroline action going on as well. Sounds like a nice little Monday.

Yesterday  I was in one of my more creative moods, and painted a little something. I’m trying to vary my pieces a little bit, yet keep the same themes intact. It’s not finished yet, but it’s growing on me all the same. I built some canvas stretcher bars on Friday, ( and of course left them there to dry in the locked up wood shop all weekend) so I’ve been trying to sketch out some good pieces to slap on there tomorrow. Or wednesday. Probably Wednesday. I’ll probably be doing relaxation exercizes all day tomorrow.
