Mo’ betta
Wednesday, February 7th, 2007 at 10:38 amAh yes.
Between keeping a daily sketchbook for sculpture, writing in my won journal, and taking pictures for digital imaging, I’ve had no time to update my poor neglected site.
But I’m back, if only for a brief moment.
A quick update:
GOT A STUDIO!!! I swear I’m more excited about this than anyone else. If you’ve ever read Virginia Woolf’s A Room of One’s Own, you completely understand my glee. No longer will I have to wade through piles of paper scraps and risk finding an exacto knife blade with my foot. No no. I will be able to walk from my door to my bed in the dark with complete confidence now that I have a spot to keep all of my artistic tools.
I’m surely biased, but I think mine is the best of them all. It has a very good vibe in there. The risky part is, now that I have the key to the studios, all I want to do is be there. It’s all too easy to tell my prof that I’m going to go work in my studio for class. I’m afraid I’ll never leave. But I think that would be fine. I packed tea, a french press, a teapot, slippers and sweats and miscellaneous candy, so I could at least live there for a small while.
AND! I got Gallery III all to myself for the week of March 26th.
So start asking for time off now and drive your ass over to see my first solo exhibition! Nick Inman has Gallery II that same week, so we are collaborating for a reception.
It’s going to be huge.
We’re talking live music ( Four Hill Blues, baby), a dj ( my dear Andy), maybe naked people painted solid colors on pedastals as live statues, a petting zoo…. who knows. The possibilities are endless. And we’re going to market the hell out of it too. Newspapers, flyers, posters, the works.
I.
Can’t.
Wait.
Building that stellar artist resume one small step at a time.
